Come and hang out with some of your people. We are planning to have heavy fighters and rapier fighters. We will need to have marshals for both. We also intend to have some Arts and Science classes. Would you like to teach a class?

There will be a potluck lunch. Who wants to run the BBQ? Fire! Meat!

Calling ALL Fighters!
Take up your arms for a day of melees and tournaments in the arts of WAR! Timed right in between Pennsic and Great Western War, in order to serve as the perfect opportunity to keep your melee and tourney skills honed!

Tournaments will be run by the ever-talented Meister Dustin Thorn, as at events past. They will kick off with the all–may–enter, with a bear-pit running concurrent to the all-may-enter starting after the first elimination round. The combined armored/unarmored duo tournament will return. A capture-the-flag melee with rubber band guns will occur after the traditional post-lunch group photo and a Cut-and-Thrust tournament will end the day’s fighting. Don’t be surprised if there’s a few twists thrown in for these too!

There will be an Arts & Sciences competition decided by populace vote. All entries welcome, including unfinished objects, documentation is always welcome but not required.

We have secured the same great location as in past years and are keeping the gate fees the same as well so come one and all to this event which is unparalleled in the West!

Come join the Barony of the Westermark at the annual Westermark Madness on Sunday, 25-September 2022 at the San Francisco Archery Range in Pacifica, CA. This year’s merriment includes Heavy and Rapier fighting as well as Archery, A&S classes, fun, and a potluck feast. Gate opens at 9:00 am and the site closes at 6:30 pm (~sunset).  More detailed information can be found on the Westermark Madness 2022 Website.

LOTS of fun for everyone!  Chivalric combatants, challenge your friends to become the next Thug or Shepherd, or maybe you want to team up with a comrade in arms and try your hand as a two headed troll. Lots of Rapier scenarios will be held too, for the opportunity to be the next Sharp of the Westermark. Archers can enjoy some novelty shoots and other shoots to find the Hood of the Westermark!  Artists can have fun with the pumpkin carving competition and enjoy some of our A&S classes taking place.

There will be a potluck style early dinner that will take place after the tournaments and court concludes. If you are able, please bring a side dish or dessert to share, large enough to serve 4 to 8 persons and the Barony will provide the main course. Please make an ingredients list available for those with food allergies. The Barony will provide shredded chicken, pulled pork and roast beef as prepared by our own Baroness Alistair!

Please try to carpool as there is limited parking. We want many people to come, so join the day trip together! Bring sun shades, chairs and tables.

Bring your own potable water – no water on site. Porta potty will be available (We are not that heathenish)

• From the north: Take your best route to Hwy 1 at the Sharp Park Rd exit in Pacifica.  Go south on Lundy Way from the intersection with Sharp Park Rd on the east side of Hwy 1.  Turn at the first left onto Rifle Range Rd and follow it to the parking at the end.  See the website for finer details.
• From the south (bay side): Heading north on I-280, take exit 41 for State Route 35 toward Skyline Blvd/Pacifica. Turn left onto Sharp Park Rd, and see the details in the map below.
