SUMMARY:Southern Shores Newcomer Tourney
DESCRIPTION:Newcomers of the lifeblood of our society and this event is designed to welcome and honor them! \nHeavy lists will be one tournament with three categories of victory. Less than one year\, less than two years and War Leader. There will be a melee element that potential War Leader must participate in. The format of the lists will be determined by turn out. \nRapier lists will also be one tournament with three categories of victory. Less than one year\, less than two years and Defender of Southern Shores. Reduced armor experiment kit will be allowed. \nPrizes will be given to the Champions! \nThe War Leader Tournament is open to any heavy fighters\, and will take place in the afternoon. The Champion will receive the title of War Leaser of Southern Shores along with some spiffy regalia and a prize! \nThere will also be a variety of Arts and Sciences activities for newcomers and for those new to an art!We will be posting these soon! \nNo site fee (but donations are welcome)! So\, if you have friends who want to know what the SCA is all about– bring them! If you just want to spend a day in the park with friends– bring yourself! Hope to see you there! \nParking is limited to street parking. Please carpool if possible. Turn left at South Baywood. Baywood ends at Williams. Street parking on Williams will be the closest to the part of the park where we will be.\nFrom the Peninsula: Take 280 South to San Jose. Take the exit 6 to Winchester Blvd. Turn right onto Winchester. Turn left at Williams. Street parking on Williams will be the closest to the part of the park where we will be.\nFrom the south: Take your best route to Hwy 280 North in San Jose. Take the Leigh Ave/Bascom Ave exit #5. Take Parkmor to Bascome and turn left on Bascom. As soon as you cross over the highway turn right onto Moorpark. Turn left at South Baywood. Baywood ends at Williams.
