Greetings once again to the good people of the Mists. As the days grow longer and warmer, We revel in the knowledge that tourney season has arrived. We hope to journey to many events throughout the Mistlands in the next few months. Please continue to send Us letters of recommendation so that we may reward those deserving during Our travels. Please note that our email address has changed to mistsroyals@westkingdom.org.
Coronet Tournament is nearly upon us. This shall mark the 51st coronet tourney for the Principality of the Mists. We hope that all those who would like to do honour unto the Principality and unto their consort consider entering the lists to vie for the honour of leading this Great Principality into the next quarter century. What a grand tournament it shall be, resplendent with all of the pageantry such an occasion deserves. To further this, We ask the populace, and especially the fighters, to bring banners to line the field with. In the evening, We invite the populace to bring their tables & chairs and enjoy a potluck dinner with Us upon the eric. We shall provide various meats and ask that those that are able to bring some sides to share.
Fighters pay heed! We shall continue with the tradition set down by Our predecessors and shall require that all combatants be armoured in a right and medieval manner and charge them to avoid blue jeans under armour, uncovered and glaring plastics, and other such intrusively modern distractions.
Geoffroi de Charny died defending the Oriflamme at the Battle of Poitiers. We feel that being Banner Bearer to a Sovereign is a position of great honour and one of the most important responsibilities an individual can have. Since the position was created, the number of fighters entering the Sunday tournament has decreased each reign. This does not do justice to the position. After much consideration on this important post, We have changed the laws regarding the Mists Banner Bearer and how the banner bearer is chosen. Our Heirs are free to choose Their banner bearer in any manner that pleases Them, including the current method of hosting a tournament on Sunday of Coronet.
