The Principality of the Mists

From Dmitriy and Jimena, Prince and Princess of the Mists

As We write these words just a few short days from the time our wagons must travel Northwards to An Tir, We pray that all who go with Us return home safely. We rejoice knowing that whatever the outcome may be, by the time you read this missive, the strife will have been put to rest. Thus reassured, We turn Our mind's eye to the future of Our Principality. Steadfastly do We follow Our King's banner to foreign wars and assemble Mists forces to quell internal strife, and We cannot but wonder what shall befall the people of the Mists should some ill befall Us. To this end, mindful of the security of our Principality and its People, We wish to determine Heirs in a Grand Tournament to be held in September.

The Coronet Tournament shall be a grand display indeed. We ask that all good and noble folk who attend this celebration bring Banners to herald their presence and lend an air of pleasant gaiety to the occasion. This applies doubly to those who wish to enter the tournament proper, for what better way is there to announce your presence to the other hopefuls, planting dread and awe in their hearts?

We also ask that all the fighters who wish to enter the tournament wear armour and garments that are not intrusively modern, but rather right and medieval. We charge you to avoid blue jeans under armour, uncovered and glaring plastics, and other such intrusively modern distractions. Should you have questions regarding the acceptability of your harness or if you wish to hear suggestions on hiding the modern items, please consult with Us prior to the tournament, and We will work with you to ensure that all who wish to compete may enter.

As always, in addition to the Coronet Tournament, the Tournament of the Roses, and the Banner Bearer Tournament on Sunday, there will be a plethora of other, more peaceful activities, such as Arts competitions, Dances, and classes. The populace is also invited to share in the Princess's tea on Sunday morning.

Lastly, We have been forewarned that although all is quiet to the South in these beautiful Summer months, Fall may bring change and Great Western War may again break the peace and quiet of Caid. We ask that all Mists War Units who would commit to following Us and the King South, so that we may contain the problem before it can reach our borders, write to Us so that we may know Our strength when time comes. We further ask all Mists warriors who do not count themselves part of a unit but can commit to the cause write to Us as well.
