Warriors of the Mists!
As We have foreseen, the savage hordes of An Tir have forgotten the hammer of King Jade. Their wounds have barely had time to heal, and yet they raise their armies once more in the hopes of seeing the Western demi-sun darken as they march through the fields tilled by our ancestors. This shall not be!
King Alden has sounded the Horn of War, and called upon his people to follow him to the North to do battle with the Black Lion of An Tir. Caldarium! Cloondara! Crosston! Darkwood! Ecorngil! Esfenn! Province of the Mists! Southern Shores! Teufleberg! Vinhold! Westermark! Wolfscairn! Baronies, cantons, shires, colleges of the Mists -- We call on all of you. Stand with Us in the North, as you are loyal subjects and stout warriors. The Mists shall answer the King's call, and We shall march underneath our Banner of Argent and Azure. Loosen your swords in their scabbards, sharpen your spears, and pack the wagons for travel. The West will move swiftly, and we will strike with force and righteous strength.
Let no Warrior stay behind -- there shall be enough glory to be gained for all.
Most Noble and Beloved Populace!
At last, the Kingdom is about to set aside the internal strife and the practice of arms for a weekend devoted to the Arts. At the end of this Month, we shall attend the Kingdom Arts and Sciences Tournament, where many fascinating classes shall be taught. A full list of classes is available elsewhere. Her Highness will speak of Poetry and of Courtly Love (a subject she has studied in great depth). We also encourage all of our subjects to attend the equestrian classes, for indeed a Horse is a noble animal, and greater knowledge of equestrian matters, such as care, grooming and tacking skills, as well as riding ability, will no doubt serve us in good steed (We meant stead. The scribe responsible has been sent to the stables). Squires, pay heed -- Knights wear spurs for a reason.
In light of recent discussions, we would also recommend that fighters and their consorts take the class on Running the Lists even if they do not intend to personally run a tournament any time soon. Knowing what the Lists Mistress is doing with all those cards and seeds will prove useful.
